UUID problem making same template for "agent" and "agent active"

In the past, I have modified the original template for Elasticsearch to work with "agent" and "agent active" and then improved it a bit. (I need both types)

This was easy in Zabbix5. But now I am not able to make a new template simply by changing "agent" items to "agent active". Because during import it realizes that UUIDs are the same and wants to overwrite the template.

I do not want to randomize the UUID either because I might want to sync my template with the upstream at some point also.

I am not sure if there is any way to make same template work for "agent" / "agent active" using a setting. That would have been ideal. But I guess not possible.

Does anybody have any solution suggestion?

Clone it, modify the clone. Then you can keep the original in sync with all the mods and just copy new things to your clone, if needed.
If yo want to have both active and non-active version, this is pretty much the only way. you need two separate ones...

cyber True, but I do not want to keep several templates in sync. It is easy to download the latest official and modify it a bit. I do not have to care about finding the differences and copy/pasting stuff. But I would need to keep the UUIDs same obviously. I guess I could have one master template in sync and then diff it to the other one... well if it is the only way...

To be honest, I do not quite understand why there can't be 2 templates in the system with items which have same UUIDs. Obviously these templates can't both be assigned to same host simultaneously. Clearly the keys will conflict anyway.
