    ZBX icon does not turn green for passively monitored host

    Hi Folks,

    I have a Zabbix server up and running.

    In addition, I followed this guide to setup an agent on one of the Linux servers I have. However, I only configured the passive Server IP section and left the ServerHost IP commented out. I then added the linux host into Zabbix configuration using "Linux generic by Zabbix agent" template.

    It has been a few hours and the Linux host has still not turned green with the ZBX icon. However, when I hover over the ZBX icon, it shows that it is "Available" in the baloon. See screenshot.

    I'm new to Zabbix and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Appreciate any help!

    Thanks in advance!

    Having the same problem (6.4 server, and 6.0 agent). My screenshot is extremely similar to yours. however:
    • I get "all green" with the Zabbix server itself
    • But the gray icon with the host's hypervisor, running on a different IP address.

    My configuration:
    • Host configuration:
      • Agent specified with IP address.
      • Hostname same as Agent configuration
      • At least one passive item configured (Agent.ping)
    • Agent configuration:
      • Code:
        idFile=/run/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.pid
        		LogFile=/var/log/zabbix-agent/zabbix_agentd.log
        		LogFileSize=0
        		Server=192.168.8.6
        		ServerActive=192.168.8.6
        		Hostname=homelab
      • No errors in logs
    • All items appear to work -- I'm _not_ missing any data, either from the Agent ping nor active checks
