    Zabbix Server - Partition Sizing

    Hello all,

I am creating a Zabbix vm for use. I have a 32gig partition for my Ubuntu OS and I have a second 100 gig partition that I would like to put SQL and the Zabbix app. What mount points should I point to the 100 gig partition for this?

    Thanks,
    Steve

For mysql, you have choices, it could be /var/lib/mysql, then ALL the mysql db files would be on that partition, or /var/lib/mysql/zabbix, then just the Zabbix DB would be there. The second needs a little more attention to setting the permissions and if the mount isn't there it's harder to understand the mysql errors. I've used the first option for years, I did use the second option back about Zabbix 1.8 when were had a physical server and I wanted to spread IO across disks.

If the mysql db files would be on that partition, or /var/lib/mysql/zabbix so choose the Mathway between it or some other SQL db files
