    Zabbix and local on-board BMC/IPMI module ?

There are several Supermicro and HP servers with on-board BMC/IPMI controller.

Let' s imagine that Zabbix 6.0 is installed on Ubuntu whic is installed on these servers (different location).

I set up successfully getting sensors information from IPMI remotely by IPMI agent by net, using IP/port of IPMI.
Remotely, because as I suppose the device is accessed by ethernet packet from server ethernet lan interface to ethernet IPMI interface.
Of course, if both are in the same network.

But is it possible to access andf get sensors information from IPMI locally directly from device, without accessing it by IP/port (623) ?

Why don' t say other word - how it is to chain to either Zabbix template data element or host data element.
I could make only as IPMI agent but it requires IP/port, that is remote connection.

Unfortunately I am not lazy and was studying mostly ipmitool documentation as well as Zabbix one, but didn' t come to "UserParameter" yet.
      Anyway, thanks.
I will try to set it up.

Don't be offended! :-) It's just that most people, in principle, do not read the documentation and want everything done for them.

Tips: ipmitools supports CSV output (-c), which can be converted to json easy on the item side using preprocessing.
    Working...
