How can create access for zabbix to read a log file with oracle owner

    How can create access for zabbix to read a log file with oracle owner

    I have a log file that want to read it by zabbix the owner of that file is oracle : oinstall
    What should I do now if want to create access for zabbix to check it . Now it is showing follow error :

    Standard linux permissions for the zabbix_agent user (usually zabbix) to read that file. Several ways, depending on how you want to do it and who may audit your system :-)

      Is that possible add zabbix user to oracle group?
      Does it have any effect on my oracle user function ?

        Adding that user to group is one possibility, it should have no effect on your oracle user. And maybe the easiest here...
        Other way would be to play around with all the file permissions with chmod.. But this may lead to too open permissions, which may not be liked by admins etc...
        And then there is setfacl, which enables you to add additional permissions to files, depending on user etc...

          usermod -aG oracle zabbix​

          Is that just enough ?

            Yes, that adds user zabbix to group called oracle.
