Full export/import of all templates giving dependency issues

    Hi
We're moving all monitoring from an old installation in v4.4.10 to a more recent one, v5.0.23
I've exported all templates in one single xml file, but when I try to import them on the new one I get dependency errors, I don't really see how it's possible & I really don't see how to fix it!

    The actual error I'm getting:
Trigger "100_T-CIS000-neteng-{HOST.NAME} is unavailable by ICMP" depends on trigger "100_T-FOR000-neteng-{HOST.NAME} is unavailable by ICMP", which does not exist.

I tried editing the xml manually to put the definition of the trigger before the one with the dependence but still the same error.
Also tried exporting that single template & importing it first (it was successfully created), then importing the rest, but still the same error.

If anyone has any ideas/pointers please I'd be most grateful!

I cannot say, what is exact issue here, but this is definitely one thing where it is better to upgrade and not do export/import... Upgrade procedures take care of things that are changed between versions...

Thanks, appreciate the answer and agree, unfortunately that's not always an option.

Just out of curiosity, what is the thing that does not allow you to do upgrade? Even in case of changing platforms you can still import your old DB and let new server do the upgrade tasks...
And another question, why go to a version which will be end of support in couple of months (end of May)?

Thanks for raising these interesting questions, it's truely appreciated - I'm raising this internally to see if we can do this as you suggest rather than the original plan. Don't really see anything blocking this method tbh.
