    Receiving Inconsistent Monitoring Emails - Zabbix 2.6.4

    Hello,
    I've inherited a zabbix monitoring server ver. 2.6.4, and have successfully setup a trigger/action to monitor that a certain process is up. I have 8 machines with identical setups being monitored by zabbix. I can successfully trigger a monitoring email by taking down and restarting the process.

    I have the 8 machines scheduled to reboot over 2hrs at 15min increments. Over the past week I have noticed these process monitoring emails dropping every day or so, the number of agents that have signalled that the process is up. When I remote into the machine, the process is up and running, the zabbix dashboard is not showing any errors.

    Where are my emails going? Are they not being sent? How can I check this?

    My apologies for any repeat questions. I've combed the zabbix documentation a few times, and this setup is also inherited so there is a bit of a learning curve.

    Install MTA on Zabbix server, send emails via that. Check MTA logs to see what happens to the emails.

      Thank you, I will look into this.

      Additionally I restarted the server today, running an automated reboot before and after. I received only half of the email alerts I was looking for (Restart, Problem/OK - came through; Process, Problem/OK, - Did not) beforehand, but after the reboot of the server all 4 notifications passed...
