Cannot add VMWare ESX host

Hi, Trying to add a single vmware host and getting an error message as per below

Zabbix version 6.2.6
Cannot find host interface on "esx host" for item key "vmware.eventlog[{$VMWARE.URL},skip]".
I am using the template just called "VMWARE"

We cannot run a zabbix agent or snmp but have been told we can still monitor without them ? - So am at a loss as to how ?

aaaarrrghhhh Why is this so damn hard/difficult - In this day and age it should not be this complicated - very unhappy

Zabbix server needs some network interface to communicate and monitor ESXi, so try adding an interface for the agent to the host.

Some how (no idea really) turned on the VMWare collectors, I was then getting invalid url and no xml code received errors so I gave up with the templates and the zabbix tutorial/help and found someone who had published some step by step guides and this seems to have worked .

got past all the other issues only to find zabbix doesnt support esxi (7.03) - sure you get disk space but no cpu, memory network etc - absolutely useless.
