Hello,
I am new to this forum and I would like to apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place.
Recently I've received a task at my workplace to implement a method using Zabbix(version 2.4) in order to monitor if pop3 and/or IMAP login is available and working on a server. I have already read the zabbix documentation quite a few times.
Unfortunately the zabbix simple checks are not enough for me because I have to check if a pop3/imap login (with authentication) is possible.
This means that I have to find a solution to "instruct" zabbix to check and login to a pop3 or IMAP service using a predefined username and password.
The first thing that comes in my mind is to use a web scenario where I can check if a webmail login is possible. However I was wondering of there is a way to monitor if pop3 login and authentication is available and working.
Any suggestions related this or a similar solution are welcome.
Thank you,
Adrian
