Help with closing alert for disk drive failure/error

    Hello,

I use Zabbix 6.0.12 to monitor the hard drive disks on my servers ZFS cluster. When a disk has failed my Zabbix alerts me as it should. I then use zpool replace command to replace my disk. but my Zabbix still shows the alert in my Dashboard for the old disk. This does make sense I suppose since I can't fix the disk so Zabbix doesn't know that I replaced the disk.

But what do I do to clear this alert in Zabbix? I've acknowledged the alert but the alert does not clear in my Dashboard. Do I then need to Close the Alert in Update Problem window?

Secondly...I have another Problem record in my Dashboard for Discovery "ZFS Vdev discovery". For this problem the Close button is not enabled (greyed out and I can not click in it). When I look at the configuration I see that the 'Allow Manual Close' is not checked. I can't check this box either to allow for manual closing. What must I do to close this problem if the Close box is not enabled.

that allow manual close is set in prototype. you have to open discovery prototype (click on that "Zfs vdev discovery" ) then you should be able to fix this...

Problems go away if your trigger condition becomes false. If that disk got replaced and now discovery has found new one (I assume some serial number or something changed in item config) then old one should be marked as "not discovered any more".. it will remain there until not discovered items are removed automatically or you just delete the item (trigger should go with it automatically).

      Hello cyber,

Appreciate you replying to me post!

I'm not seeing where I can fix this manual close button not being enabled. I have two alerts that are giving me trouble:

Both alerts are Discovered by Zfs vdev discovery:

First alert - vdev ata-WDC_WD10SPSX-00A6WT0_WD-WXJ2A929KJJA has encountered 36 errors on server1
Second alert - Zpool zpool-local is DEGRADED on server1

I've replaced the disk that had errors (it had failed) and the pool is healthy and online once again.

But I can't manually close these alerts. Like the picutre above the 'Allow manual close' button is unchecked.

So I've followed the Discovered by Link to the template and confirmed the check box is enabled to allow manual close. But still on my Dashboard, I'm not able to close these alerts. Can you suggest something else I may be missing?

      Thank you.
