Monitor Service on Zabbix Server

Hey,

What is the best way to monitor a service on Zabbix Server (local)

I tried with: net.tcp.service[myservice,,3060]

M 'm receiving the error: "Not supported by Zabbix agent"

What am i missing?

Use it as follows:
net.tcp.service[tcp,,3060]

If you get errors, then, best way is check on log files for additional infos.

i checked the logs (messages, zabbix agent)
nothing there...

Increase logging verbosity? Did you check they red Xs in the GUI?

net.tcp.service is not supported by zabbix agent (item type)
Change the type of item to " Simple check " and test again.

Hi Dmitry, what is the Username & Password field for?

I tried without enter any value and still getting the "not supported by zabbix agent"

Type - simple check
key - net.tcp.listen[3060]
username - none
password - none
Type of information - numeric (unsigned)

Fields Username and Password are used only for VMware monitoring, otherwise it is ignored.

Try with net.tcp service,

net.tcp.service[tcp,,3060]
Type: Numeric (float)
Show value: Service state

In monitoring tab, you will see UP (1) or Down (0)

Refresh unsupported items (in sec)
By default its 600 sec

Where was the problem?

btw, previously i said that net.tcp.service is not supported by zabbix agent. I was wrong.
It is supported by both of them (agent and simple check)
