Does Zabbix server supports JSON in discovery?

I mean: does the Zabbix server code supports JSON-encoded strings formatted according to industrial standarts, but not according to the Zabbix official documentation.

I.e. if my string is properly JSON-encoded and its structure appropriate to Zabbix documentation requirements, but it does not contain unneccessary "newlines", "spaces" and "tabs" - cant it be parsed properly by zabbix server?
