    Getting duplicate alerts with same event ID

    Dear Zabbix Gurus,

    I'm wondering why I'm getting duplicate alerts with same event ID?

    Is there any way to trace what's causing it?

    Any clue would be appreciated.

      Since no one replied yet, I have just reconfigured my Actions in Zabbix Configuration as follows:



      I will update here if the problem persists or solved.

      But, please feel free to post any thoughts or suggestions.

        The outcome of using this action is I'm getting 'less number' of duplicate email alerts, but still some of them are duplicates.

        C'mon guys, I want to hear your answers..

          I'd like to up this topic.

          Same problem here - even the simplest triggers like icmp check generate duplicate emails - 2 for PROBLEM and two for OK state, with the same ID.

          I'd be happy to provide needed details if someone is willing to help.

          Zabbix server 2.4.8 on Ubuntu 12.04
          The duplicate emails have slightly different timestamps, as if they are generated by two different checks: e.g. one is sent as soon as trigger fires, and then the second message is sent when some zabbix's internal "cron" checks the trigger state.
          E.g. for the same ID:
          Date: Mon, 12 Sep 2016 16:46:07 +0300
          Date: Mon, 12 Sep 2016 16:46:23 +0300
          or for another ID:
          Date: Mon, 12 Sep 2016 16:32:36 +0300
          Date: Mon, 12 Sep 2016 16:32:52 +0300

          Edit: In fact, the difference in duplicate emails is always 16 seconds - I've checked more than ten pairs and it is always the same.
          Edit2: "Multiple PROBLEM events generation" is turned off for this triggers.

            If you have duplicate alerts with the same event ID, it may be alerts from different actions. For troubleshooting add macros {ACTION.NAME} to "Default message" of your actions.

              Thank you very much, this is definitely the right direction.

              The actions are different:
              Action name: Report problems to Zabbix administrators - 3 items
              and
              Action name: Report problems to Zabbix administrators


              Do I need this action with 3 items? Is it safe to disable it?
