Failed to accept an incoming connection

    Hello,
I just recently upgraded my Zabbix server from version 4.0 to 6.0.14. The server is working fine monitoring all my Zabbix 4.0 agents. (Haven't upgraded them yet) I just installed a RHEL9 server and installed Zabbix version 6.0.14. (Matches server version) From the server, I cloned an existing server and changed the hostname and IP address as per my usual approach. I then updated the Zabbix agent configuration file on RHEL9 server. (Hostname=gar1vyumrhel0p, Server=10.204.221.66, ServerActive=10.204.221.66) This is the address of my Zabbix server. I then enabled and restarted the Zabbix agent on the RHEL9 server. The following error is being logged in the agent logfile on the RHEL9 server:

failed to accept an incoming connection: connection from "10.204.221.66" rejected, allowed hosts: "127.0.0.1"

There is no firewall running on the RHEL9 server and I've confirmed that I can establish a telnet/TCP connection both ways. (Connect to port 10050 from the Zabbix server and port 10051 from the RHEL9 client) I don't know what else to try as the Zabbix agent configuration file on the RHEL9 server is configured identically as my other 4.0 Zabbix clients. This is the first time I've run into this issue so I'm wondering if it's something to do with this new Zabbix version. Any suggestions? Please help. Thank you.

Figured it out! In Zabbix 4.0, the agent configuration file was located under /etc/zabbix. In Zabbix 6.x, the configuration file is directly under /etc. (/etc/zabbix_agentd.conf) I was making changes under /etc/zabbix and they were getting ignored. :-)

I would not be so sure about that config file placement... That's maybe not related to zabbix v6 then, but to your RH9? In RH8 and v6.0.x all config files sit nicely under /etc/zabbix by default...

You are correct. This issue seems to be specific to RHEL9. The Zabbix 6.x agent on RHEL9 no longer uses /etc/zabbix for the configuration files. Thank you.
