    Window Agent active check

    Hello,

I just installed zabbix agent on Windows server and I would like to know how the Zabbix windows agent can specify to the Zabbix server what processes to check beside cpu, ram and HD.

I do not want check all the processes but only few of them.

    I am using Zabbix 3.2

    thank you

Thank you for the reply and I did check and seem interesting but I am unable to activate active check agent.

      I followed those steps : https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...o_registration

I created two actions for Linux and Windows hosts.

I configured my Windows agent and restart and I got the error message as below :
      Code:
no active checks on server [1.1.1.1:10051]: host [WindowsHostname] not found
On the server side a get :
      Code:
no active checks on server [1.1.1.2:10051]: host [WindowsHostname] not found
Below is my windows agent config :
      Code:
      # This is a configuration file for Zabbix agent daemon (Unix)
      # To get more information about Zabbix, visit http://www.zabbix.com

        instead of:

        Code:
        HostnameItem=system.hostname
place the name that you specified on the host configuration at the zabbix frontend.

but if you are trying to use auto registration actions to self service the host registration process, then by all means create a simple condition like this:

        Code:
        Host name not like gluglu
And i'm prettry sure you'll get anything that hits your zabbix server registered...

then you can create some operations like:

        Code:
Send message to users: ZabbixDebutant (Debutant) via Email
        Add host
        Add to host groups: RandomHosts
Link to templates: Template Yours truly
        Set host inventory mode: Automatic
        And have fun....

          Hello,

          Thank you for the update.

I was using the auto registering but I was missing an option in the operation tab.
          I added the option :
          Code:
          Add host
Now, my hosts are adding automatically.

But what I want to do is that I want to define on the agent side that I want to monitor the process bob.exe. On the server side, the client host will be added automatically (which work very well ) and automatically start monitoring the process bob.exe.

Therefore, I do not need to add that process on the server manually. Please advise me if it is possible or doable

Or I have to define the process bob.exe as an item on the server side and assign that to a template and assign that template to the host in question on the auto-registering rule.

          Thank you again.

Now just tell me the truth... straight up... i know it's a lot to process, but have you read the reference i passed you on my first post? Please do. If you have, then read it again, thoroughly. As it seems, it really is for you.

I'll stick around and help with the doubts.

I know it has been long time but I wanted to thank you for your time.
It was not what I was looking for but LLD did help me to do other few things that I was not planing to do.

Never got chance. So yeah, Thank you.
