Calulated item max month

I there a way to create a calculated item that holds the max of the month

Example:

Day of month Value
1 10
2 20
3 40
4 12
5 9
6 80
7 4
8 6
9 7

I only want to know that the highest value is 80 of that month.

This isn't an item but there is the trigger function max() which can evaluate the highest value on a defined period.
