New Trigger for Backup Process monitor

    Hi All.

I've read several posts here on the forum and several articles on the internet, but I still haven't figured out how to achieve the goal specified in the subject of this post.
    Summing up:
    - In a "Host" I created a new "Item" which is regularly populated with the status of my backups (once a day).
    - The value of this "Item" can therefore be: "Success" - "Warning" - "Failed"
The question is: how do I compose the expression of a new "Trigger" (to be shown on the map) that indicates me
    - Problem: when the item value is "Failed"
    - Warning: when the item value is "Warning"
    - Ok: when the item value is "Success"
Thanks so far for your help.

    Hi everyone.
I think I answered this question myself, by dint of trying and trying to understand.
If anyone notices that I'm interpreting it wrong and wants to correct me, I'm happy to accept the correction.
Actually what I was trying to do can't be done:
    - triggers only have the possibility of having 2 states: "ON" (which corresponds to "Problem") or "OFF" (which corresponds to "No Problem")
    - the "ON" state is activated when the result of the "expression" is "true". If the result of the "expression" is "not true" the Trigger status remains "OFF"
    - The trigger can then be set to have a "Severity" (including "Warning"). When the trigger is set to "ON" a problem will be activated on that Host with the severity chosen when configuring that trigger.
    - ... it is therefore not possible to have the status "Problem", "Warning" and "Ok" in a single trigger. "Warning" is not a status contemplated by the trigger, but a Severity of a trigger.
I hope this reconstruction of mine can help someone and if I haven't reconstructed well I hope someone can correct me.
Anyway, in my case, the Expression I used to report me a "High severity problem" whether my backup returns "Warning" or "Failed" is:
    (last(/HOSTNAME/item_key))="Warning" or (last(/HOSTNAME/item_key))="Failed"
    while the "Recovery Expression" is:
    (last(/HOSTNAME/item_key))="Success"
    Thank you all.
    Mauro.

Basics on the trigger states etc .. are correct, but you do not need that Recovery expression here. Recovery expression is ADDITIONAL criteria, that has to be true after your main expression has already turned False. So in this case, if your trigger will activate in case of Warning or Failed, then receiving a "Success" makes that expression false anyway and trigger returns to OK state.
