Hello,
Excuse me if this question has been asked here before. If so, please direct me a to the relevant post.
I'm looking an effective method to add hosts based on their hostname. As an example, assume the hostname follow the structure of <env>-<app>.example.com (prod-web.example.com).
What I'm looking to do is to, discover all these hosts in the subnet, tag them based on the environment and application, add to appropriate hostgroups and link appropriate templates. According to my understanding, using HostNameItem is the best option to achieve this.
Any tips and leads or alternatives to using HostNameItem (more efficient) would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
