    snmptt in zabbix

    Hi,

i am trying to push alerts from snmptrap (snmptt) to zabbix with item (zabbix trap). I see my trap (server Dell alert) in the file "/var/log/snmptt/snmptt.log" but nothing appear in zabbix... When i send "local" alert (127.0.0.1) test it work in zabbix but not with my server Dell (210.x.x.x).

    any ideas ?

    regards .

    Hi Spirou,

have you configured your zabbix_agentd.conf correctly with your Dell IP "(210.x.x.x)" in these options:

    Server=
    and
    ServerActive=
    ?

        Spirou,

        1) How do you make that push to zabbix?

        2) Can you show output of these commands:

        $ getenforce
        and
        $ getsebool -a | grep zabbix

          Hello Spirou!

What OS platform are you using?
Make sure that you can connect to that network/port.

1 -I am using snmptrap and snmptt handler :
            - I send trap from my Dell chassis(210.x.x.x) and push the trap on my snmp server => in /var/log/snmp/snmptt.log its ok i see my alerts etc (210.x.x.x)
But when i cant see on zabbix (snmp trap), i only localhost (127.0.0.1) when i am doing local test , cant see my Dell chassis (210.x.x.x) .....
            2 -I am on ubuntu 14.04.

            regards.

Don't take in mind post about connections. Didn't noticed you receive traps from Dell to your trap file.
So lets make it clear once again.
Traps from localhost are showing in zabbix frontend, but traps from Dell doesn't despite they are written in trap file?

Could you please add content of trap file, zabbix_server.log and snmptt.conf?

What does your /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf look like?

                      Have you configured :

                      traphandle default /usr/sbin/snmptthandler

                      ?

You mentioned it works locally but not over the network.

I'd focus validate that you have udb port 162 listening if localhost is working as expected.

Check that you have made iptables/firewalld exceptions to allow it in .

My server is listening on 162 :

                            netstat result :

                            udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:162 0.0.0.0:* 0 62863685 32195/snmptrapd

and i received trap over the network via tcpdump but not in zabbix....

FYI, my snmp server and zabbix zabbix server is the same.

                            regards.
