    Zabbix Server will not start HA manager timeout

    I build zabbix server successful from source, but it will fail during startup with following log messages:

    It does not run in a cluster why does it need the HA manager, can it be disabled, or is there a permission issue, any suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks and Regards,

    I increased the debug level to 5 and I only get this additional information in the lo:

    29977:20230426:115329.001 In zbx_ipc_service_recv() timeout:0.150
    29972:20230426:115329.001 End of zbx_ipc_service_recv():2
    29977:20230426:115329.001 End of zbx_ipc_service_recv():2
    29972:20230426:115329.002 One child process died (PID:29977,exitcode/signal:9). Exiting ...
    29972:20230426:115329.002 End of zbx_ha_start():FAIL
    29972:20230426:115329.002 cannot start HA manager: timeout while waiting for HA manager registration

    In the zabbix_server.conf I have no NodeName given and according to this information the HA manager should no start. Can please anyone help to solve this.
    I tried Zabbix 5, but the gui will not work correct, which I assume it is a php issue with php version 8

      hi

      paste relevant config files - so it will be easier for somebody to help , check that you have nw connections allowed between those 2 nodes ( port 10051 vice versa ), zabbix server should start in ha even without frontend runnig ( so shouldnt be a php issue )

      is the server working in single node setup ?

      why compile it from sources ? i did have to id my self , but only in rare and obscure scenarios

        Hi,
        Thank you very much for the reply.

        The install is on a QNAP NAS (Linux qnap-nas 5.10.60-qnap Home SMP Wed Mar 22 18:12:13 CST 2023 x86_64 GNU/Linux), there is a zabbix 4 binary version available, but will not work on the current version of the OS, that's why I build it from source.

        It is a single node, that's why I don't understand why it wants to start the HA manager. I have uploaded the zabbix_server.conf with this post.

        The gui issue I had with Zabbix 5, that's why I try to use Zabbix 6.

          You have "HANodeName=qnap-nas" defined.. Thats why it wants to start up as HA node...
          Code:
          ## Option: HANodeName
          # The high availability cluster node name.
          # [COLOR=#e74c3c]When empty, server is working in standalone mode[/COLOR]; a node with empty name is registered with address for the frontend to connect to.
          #
          # Mandatory: no
          # Default:
          HANodeName=qnap-nas

            Sorry attached the wrong file, this is the correct config file and the Node is not configured, but it still wants to start HA, there must be somewhere another flag which tells HA manager to start.
