I've got a problem with monitoring hosts via zabbix-proxy
My setup looks like this:
* Ubuntu Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS
* Zabbix server 3.0.3 with public IP (can reach zabbix proxy directly, but not monitored hosts)
* Zabbix proxy 3.0.3 with public IP direct connect to the hosts which I want to monitor
I run into this problem.
Zabbix agent connects to server (via proxy) where the auto registration action based on HostMetadata creates a host and assigns some templates to the host. This action takes random time (one host registers within 1 minute and another takes forever), but the eventually register. But afterwards, the zabbix doesn't collect any data from agent, even though host settings in zabbix GUI looks fine. Firewall between server and proxy is fully opened and also between proxy and agents.
Questions:
- is it possible to monitor hosts which are from network perspective visible only from zabbix-proxy?
- what might cause the random time for autoregistration oh hosts?
- why zabbix server can't gather any data from agent?
