new user wanting to try zabbix

I am a new user and I am trying to install zabbix for our company and having some difficulty, I get the following error:

$ sudo mysql -uroot -p
Enter password:
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

MySQL installed? Working?

Check the status of MySQL

systemctl status mysqld

It must be in active (running) state

Check if the mysql.sock file exist in the folder

sudo ls /var/lib/mysql

if u are doing it for ur company u should put it in three separate servers. for scalability i have my documantation but its in dutch u will have to translate some of it but u should understand it kinda.

im using ubuntu server 22.04 for all three of my servers and mysql for the database. zabbix version 6.4

i am having a bit of trouble with the agent but the rest works.
