SNMP trap not picked up by zabbix server though making it to /tmp/zabbix_traps.tmp

    Hi,
I have setup snmp traps monitoring and tried both perl processing and shell script processing.
I can see the traps are making it to /tmp/zabbix_traps.tmp file from my device.

But i dont see them on the fallback snmp trap item object in zabbix gui. history always shows empty.
    Any suggesstions please?

Are your settings for 'SNMPTrapperFile' and 'StartSNMPTrapper' in /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf correct?

Are you on a platform that starts zabbix_server via systemd, and if so is PrivateTmp set?

Set the "Log unmatched SNMP traps" option

yes thnx, i followed the steps in the blog ....
and Log unmatched SNMP traps is enabled too
i see the traps are logged by perl script in the log file, its just the zabbix application not picking it up - really puzzled..

Ok this is weird. i finally managed to sort it. I used service restart instead of systemctl restart for both snmptrapd and zabbix-server and it works now. thanks all
