Give access to a Network map to a standard user.

    Hi

I'm installing and getting my hands on Zabbix
for the admin part, adding hosts etc. it's ok

I created a map of the infra in Surveillance / Map
my admin users can access it.

I wanted to create a basic user, just to display the map on a big screen.
I created a user in internal group, permission : user role

he can log in, access the standard dashboard, but when I go to monitoring / map, nothing
    ditto for the guests, empty.

I saw that we could manipulate permissions via the sharing tab of the map, but I can't give access to the map to this user.
the map is public by default.

any idea what I have to do as permission on this card so that my standard user can access it?

You have misunderstood the public/private thing...

    • Public maps are visible to all users, although to see it the user must have read access to at least one map element. Public maps can be edited in case a user/ user group has read-write permissions for this map and at least read permissions to all elements of the corresponding map including triggers in the links.
    • Private maps are visible only to their owner and the users/user groups the map is shared with by the owner. Regular (non-Super admin) users can only share with the groups and users they are members of. Admin level users can see private maps regardless of being the owner or belonging to the shared user list. Private maps can be edited by the owner of the map and in case a user/ user group has read-write permissions for this map and at least read permissions to all elements of the corresponding map including triggers in the links.
Its just the visibility, not access..

User has to have access to the hostgroups, that contain the data what is showed in those maps...

ok, i just found out where it as by creating a new role.

too bad you can't just allow everything by default, you have to add groups as read only or read/write
