Update Items created by LLD

Hello,
currently running Zabbix 3.0.

I created some templates with items directly under the template and other created by LLD rules.

If I change the INTERVAL for a template's item (non in LLD), change is propagated to hosts.
If I change the INTERVAL for an item defined under LLD, change is applied only to items discovered AFTER the change but not to old ones.

I suspect this is correct because when LLD runs it CREATES items within the host; it DOESN'T update items previously created.
Is this correct?

Yes, prototype updates work as you describe. For prototypes, you will need to clone the existing, make your update, add, then go back and delete the old.

If you have disabled prototype on an individual host, that will be lost.

I don't think that is correct, indeed I happen to have been working on something.

If the LLD discovers the same key, it should update the item on next discovery. I frequently go into infrequent discovery and change them to fast to hasten the change.

I just changed an interface prototype's interval from 600 to 610 and waited for the next discovery, and it changed the item.

Unlike regular items the change is not immediate, you have to wait for the interval on the discovery rule.

It worked for me too - after correcting Item Prototypes, under "Discovery rule" (main subpage) I changed its "Update interval" from 1h to 5m, waited and everything worked.

The same was when on some host I specified macro to filter out interface names (to not be included in the discovery), so temporarily changing update interval on the Discovery rule worked
