    Zabbix snmp via proxy

I was wondering if you use snmp checks via proxy, are those checks moving whole way via port that is configured for snmp or does it go first with configurations to proxy and from there it goes through snmp port? And how about information that it is giving back, what port do they use when data is coming back from proxy to server?

Zabbix proxy to server uses 10051 (unless you change it)

Proxy to snmp device will be UDP 161.

The proxy builds a configuration of hosts and items, then polls them independently from the server. That configuration is updated from the server periodically. The update frequency is set in the proxy config, the update method is a little different for active vs. passive proxies.

Items from the hosts will be "cached" in the proxy and sent in bulk to the server.
