ERROR 1205 (HY000): Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction

Hello,

I have zabbix 1.1.4 and a huge database!
I am trying to delete some history but this is what i get:

ERROR 1205 (HY000): Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction

i get this kind of error in command line but also via zabbix when cleaning history.

anybody an idea ?

Do not delete history in scope of one transaction, this will exhaust Oracle and system resources. Consult Oracle docs for better solution.
