Linux Active Agents and Zabbix v6.4

I have linux active agents deployed and we are running 6.4.3 server. I thought I saw that they now register availability as green if info is received. I cant find that info again, did they revert it?

    thank you in advance

I agree with you, but unfortunately this is how it was implemented: https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...llection/hosts

So, here's the main related part:

      See for the last sentence:

Active agent availability is counted towards the total Zabbix agent availability in the same way as a passive interface is. For example, if a passive interface is available while the active checks are unknown, the total agent availability is set to gray (unknown).
And vice versa. "Total" here means "both active and passive interfaces". So in order to get "green" you need to have both configured and working. I suggest adding at least one passive check to every active agent. :-(

That makes sense, but if the template does not have a non active check listed, why would that availability be an option? Is that a default add to all hosts with a template installed?

It doesn't have any relation to a template. If a host has Agent interface (for passive checks) it will be counted in "total" host availability. If you don't care about the DNS name or IP address of the host (for example, you don't use {HOST.IP} macro), you can remove Agent interface from the host and the "total" availability should become green.

More information (where change was implemented): https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-5088
Active agent will be covered in Host availability widget in 7.0 (change almost ready): https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-7736
Request for correct handling when autoregistering "active only" agents: https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-8487
