Help with Lenovo server monitoring XCC

    Hello all.

I'm new to Zabbix so I have only basic knowledge about it...
Main usage for my Zabbix instalation is for monitoring server and NAS devices.
I installed it (V6.4) and it works great for the things I tryed.
For now I only have HPE server ILO snmp monitoring, Windows client (agent) monitoring and Synology NAS device monitoring trough snmp.

When I would like to go further I got stuck on Lenovo Thinksystem SR650 V2 server.
There is no template for Lenovo servers....
I don't know what to use for montoring hardvare statuses of this server (disks, cpu, ram, fans, power supply...)
Preferable would be to do SNMP cals to Xclarity BMC (XCC) but I cant find anything to use. I only have latest snmp MIB files for this server but I can't translate them to Zabbix template.
Maybe there is some other aproach to monitor Lenovo hardware....

    P.S.
I use Vmware platform (6.7 - 8) on all servers...

Please point me to some solution for this.

    Thank you

    Best regards
    Marko

      Hi,

You can use the attached template for XCC.
Some of items are customized by me so maybe it not works for you.

        Hello,
        Thanks for your template.

I have prooblems with importing it.... It needs dependant template : "Template Server Lenovo XCC SNMPv3" but I can't find any usefull template by that name.
All of them are for old version of Zabbix (3.4 I think...) but I have version 6.4.

Do you maybe have any solution for this one?

        Thank you

              Thank you :-)

              You are fast. !

              I successfuly imported this template.
For test I use one ThinkSystem SR650 V2

When Zabbix did discovery of all components It got some data but for phisical disks I only got info for one disk across all disk slots (same serial and status on all disks) It shows all 12 slots as populated but I have only 3 disks plugged in....
Also status of power supply shows "normal" but I have one of two power supplyes with withot power...
              But this shows preogress...

I'm new to zabbix so I still have to learn how to edit templats.... but you helped me a lot to give me startig point for this :-)
If you have any suggestion on how to proceed please let me know.

              Thnk you.
              Best rehards

You can use the MiB file to get the value of any OID.

Use this link to download MiB file. https://datacentersupport.lenovo.com/in/en/products/servers/thinksystem/sr650v2/7d15/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Lenovo%20XClarity%20Controller%20%2 8LXCC%29&id=5B728F3A-02E2-49FB-94ED-8B99BD70CEA0

                  Thanks.

                  I already had this MIB.
Now I just have to learn how to use it :-)

Keep up the good work .

Just replace the security name to the user in XCC, default USERID.

                    Here´s a working example.:

To effectively monitor your Lenovo Thinksystem SR650 V2 server hardware statuses in Zabbix, you have several options:
                    1. Create a Custom Template: Utilize the SNMP MIB files provided by Lenovo to manually create a custom Zabbix template tailored to your server's hardware specifications. This approach offers flexibility but requires expertise in Zabbix configuration and SNMP MIB interpretation.
                    2. Use Generic SNMP Templates: Apply generic SNMP templates provided by Zabbix to monitor basic hardware statuses. While not as specific as custom templates, these can still offer valuable insights into your server's health.
                    3. Explore Third-Party Integrations: Look for third-party integrations or plugins designed specifically for monitoring Lenovo servers with Zabbix. These may offer ready-made solutions or scripts that can be integrated into your monitoring setup.
                    4. Consult Lenovo Support: Reach out to Lenovo support for guidance on monitoring their servers with Zabbix. They may provide documentation or assistance in setting up monitoring for your specific server model.

By exploring these options, you can effectively monitor your Lenovo Thinksystem SR650 V2 server hardware statuses in Zabbix, ensuring the health and performance of your infrastructure.

hubertsvk it is because the template is linked with another template. Import attached template 1st and then try to import Lenovo XCC template.
