Best way to get rid of unsupported Items?

    Hi guys.

When I clone a host there are no unsupported Items anymore. This seems ok, because, for example > on my UTM, the newly cloned Host has it's items auto generated on base of it's current connected interfaces. So if i connect a RED to port ethx, there will be an item. If i disconnect this RED, the item becomes "unsupported", ok.
How do i "reset" this item, since i can't delete it (it's linked to a template) and it will never update, because OID changed, because interface has a new device connected or no device is connected anymore?

I appreciate your help. Thanks MO

If I'm following you, these are found by low level discovery. When an item is no longer discovered, it is marked for deletion in addition to being marked as unsupported. The delete time is specified in the discovery prototypes, I do not recall the default, but you can set it to zero if you want them to go away (nearly) immediately.

You should be able to see if this is happening by going to the host (not template) and viewing the items there, it should show a separate indicator (red X if I recall) for unsupported, and another (orange x maybe) for to-be deleted. If you hover over each explains.

This is dependent on the low level discovery not finding it; you can double check with snmpwalk that its index is no longer present.
