zabbix server is not running the information displayed may not be current

Suddenly zabbix server stops running and logs are also not coming.
GUI is displaying this message "zabbix server is not running the information displayed may not be current". Plzz help as I am really stuck in this issue .

Even this cmd /etc/init.d/zabbix-server start is not giving any o/p

Suhani, which zabbix version are you running?

I get those messages from time to time after upgraded to v3.0

- Did the server run before or couldnt you even start it?
1. Try start the zabbix server service and check "ls -t --full-time /var/log | head -5" for any init.d error entries.
2. Check if there's anything in /var/log/zabbix/zabbix-server.log (or wherever your logfile resides, depending on configuration).

resolution of the issue

Earlier startup script /etc/init.d/zabbix-server was not able to start due to some issue in the script. zabbix-server daemaon is present at path /usr/local/sbin/zabbix_server(find / -name zabbix_server) but the path in startup script /etc/init.d/zabbix-server was DAEMON=/usr/sbin/$NAME so changed to "/usr/local/sbin/$NAME" .

Due to this script is started fine and logs are also started coming in log file.
