Sorry, if this has been asked already. We are running into an issue with monitoring Cisco devices via Zabbix so thought that this would be the best place to look for solution or see what others have done.
We are running Zabbix 2.4.6 in our environment. We have already set it up to monitor numerous servers Linux/Windows and different applications and it is working great. The next step is to monitor all network devices (switches, routers etc.).
The problem we are facing is that for different model of Cisco device and for different ios version on it, cisco have different mibs. We have a lot of different switch models and router models in the environment and it will be a nightmare if we try and create templates manually for each model and ios version and it will be very hard to manage. Also for example if we upgrade the ios then there is a chance that we will have to update the OID in the item for that device.
Is it possible in zabbix to have one template for all network devices using LLD or something.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
