Windows Agent connectivity issue with Ubuntu server over virtual machine

I have the zabbix server installed on Ubuntu 14.04. Ubuntu has been installed on a virtual machine. I have installed a windows agent on my host system. I have created a host via the frontend. I am getting the following error

"Getting value from agent failed: ZBX_TCP_READ() failed:[104] Connection reset by peer"

I have read the posts for the same issue and tried out the solutions mentioned in them but without any success. What could be the possible issue?

I just fixed the exact same issue with monitoring a few special purpose workstations. Checking the log for the agent on the Windows system, it was trying to connect using the IPv6 address of the server. Once I added that to the IP list in the conf file, I was able to connect again.

Oddly enough, I only had this issue with two workstations. All of my Windows servers had no issues at all.
