How to test a new item/trigger?

Hello,
I'm looking to see if there's a way to test newly created items/triggers in Zabbix 2.2 (example: CPU use over 90%). We are looking to test the item/trigger without actually creating the condition on the server. Is this possible to test a item/trigger via Zabbix Management Console?

All set - I was able to use zabbix_sender.exe to test or trigger conditions. Thank you
