Greetings,
I have recently configured discovery rules and actions. Everything is working as expected except for one thing: discovered hosts are added by their IP rather than the DNS hostname.
The discovery action knows the DNS name for the host and it populates that field in the agent address settings, but it still prefers to contact the host by IP. Since we use DHCP quite a lot in our staging environments, zabbix often loses track of hosts because of changing IP addresses (even when the DNS name says consistent due to DDNS).
Is there a way to have zabbix prefer to contact hosts by DNS name rather than IP when they are added by a discovery rule?
Thanks!
