I have Zabbix 2.4 running under MySQL on openSuse. I would like to migrate to Debian with the newest Zabbix 3.0 and to postgresql. I have seen several posts about how to migrate from MySQL to postgresql but most of them are rather old and not very complete.
My question thus, would you recommend bothering with the migration of data or is it better to do a fresh installation of new Zabbix 3 with postgresql and importing only the custom templates from the old system and readding all the hosts (about 20) (and just losing the data because it may not be worth the migration pain)?
If I was to stay on MySQL would the migration be easier (I assume it would require first install zabbix 2.4 and then update it to v. 3?)?
Thank you.
