Monitoring of Zabbix Proxy's

Hi All

I have my zabbix server setup with 9 proxies. I'm setting up monitoring of the proxy server but was wondering, should the proxy be monitored by itself of by the central zabbix server?

The though behind using the central server is that it will highlight quick if a proxy is offline/down?

I would suggest you monitor this via the Central Zabbix server, for the exact reason you provide.

I never noticed much of a difference, I set up most proxies to monitor themselves. The same data gets sent (or not) to the server where the alerts happen.
