In our production environment we have a problem:
The same monitored host is known in different , but still unique, names ( DNS name, Solaris zone name, IP ). We use zabbix_sender to send most of the data to the zabbix server, and I have to give the host name as a parameter. In different scripts I have the different names (one knows the DNS name, while the other knows only the zone name etc.)
How can I solve this problem ?
Please note: I am not talking about the displayed name, but the host name that is used as the ID in zabbix.
