This issue still persists in 6.6.2

When a device reaches around 42,946,788 seconds, zabbix resets the trigger for the uptime.

I am constantly receiving alerts that network devices are being rebooted but in reality they are all having an uptime of

      1 year, 18 weeks, 6 days, 2 hours, 32 minutes

This is not an issue that needs to be fixed on Zabbix per se as the end device replies with a 0 value upon reaching 497 days. The template needs to be modified, either the default one or in new ones.

Cisco for example recommends switching to snmpEngineTime rather than sysUpTime. But im not sure how this behaves on non-networking devices.
