Monitor cctv camera without snmp ?

Hi - I have a number of older Amcrest ip cctcv camera's that do not support snmp - It would be nice to monitor them beyond just a ping - Is this possinble ?. I have tried using the Hikvision template with relevant macro details ({$HIKVISION_ISAPI_PORT}, {$PASSWORD} and {$USER}) but I do not get a connection.

I am not sure if Amcrest are Hikvision or Dahua clones/copies or their own unique device.

    Any help gratefully accepted.

In order to monitor the network device somehow, it is necessary that the device can respond via some kind of network protocols.
What exactly your camera "can" - look at in its documentation.
Templates usually rely on some specific protocol. In the case of cameras - most often on SNMP

Well, you can also monitor the network ports on your IP cams if it makes sence for you.
Another approche would be if your Amcrest ip cctcv camera's has a http:\\ portal to watch the images you could also add a Web Monitoring on that portal to get status code and others elements on page.
Diving more deeply you can also customize anything using scripts depending on what you want to monitor and what is offered by the device.
