New user needing help with Appliance and USB connected APC

I am new to Zabbix installation ( have been casual user older version) I am now trying to install an new Virtual appliance version 3.0.4 on a ESXi 6 host. I have created the virtual machine. Added the USB port and APC UPS as a USB device to the virtual machine but I do not know how to configure the monitoring from within Zabbix. I did install the APC template and setup the apcupsd component on the system but do not know how to connect the systems together. This is all we want for now on the system. Need to have email for power failure and power back to normal.

Is there any how to guides out there ? or something to walk me through the setup and testing
