    Issue with installing Zabbix

    Hello,

New to Zabbix, hoping it's somewhat easier to use than Nagios!

Have followed the documentation for installing Zabbix on CentOS 7, using yum.

However, it doesn't seem to be installing MySQL.

    Any advice on this?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Issue with installing Zabbix

    Hi HM-Mike,

yes, Zabbix is much easier than Nagios.

What error do you have when trying to start MySQL?
The installation of MySQL is not so difficult.

Packages for RHEL 7 is, MySQL server does not install automatically.
It is because there is a case to install and use the MySQL server on either local and remote.

In addition, in the case of CentOS 7, there is no MySQL server in the standard repositories.
If you are using the CentOS standard of yum repository, you will be using the MariaDB.

If you decide to use MariaDB, please install the mariadb-server with yum.

      Code:
      # yum install mariadb-server
