    Cannot add SNMP template

Sorry if there's an answer for this somewhere else. I really couldn't find it

So, I am trying to configure SNMP monitoring in a host. I can snmpwalk from server to host (hostname is dif26), and the IP is configured correctly (I assume). When trying to add an SNMP template for that host, I get the following error:

    Cannot update host
    Details

    Created: Application "Interfaces" on "dif26".
    Updated: Application "General" on "dif26".
Created: Discovery rule "Network interfaces" on "dif26".
Created: Item prototype "Admin status of interface $1" on "dif26".
Created: Item prototype "Alias of interface $1" on "dif26".
Created: Item prototype "Description of interface $1" on "dif26".
Created: Item prototype "Inbound errors on interface $1" on "dif26".
Created: Item prototype "Incoming traffic on interface $1" on "dif26".
Created: Item prototype "Operational status of interface $1" on "dif26".
Created: Item prototype "Outbound errors on interface $1" on "dif26".
Created: Item prototype "Outgoing traffic on interface $1" on "dif26".
Two items ("Device name" and "Host name") cannot populate one host inventory field "Name", this would lead to a conflict.

The last line seems to be quite straightforward, but I just don't know how to resolve this. Any guesses on what I could change?

    Hi, nicole.
You have inventory field "Name" in another template, already linked to this host, item "Device name" or "Host name". Now you have to set "Populates host inventory field" to -None- in your SNMP template, item "Device name" or "Host name", before adding this template.

For anyone else, what I needed to do was go into a server, click on "Items" on the bar between "Applications" and "Triggers". Click to remove the current host, then in the field for searching for a "Key" type "sysName".

Click the link for each host and under "Populates host inventory field", set it to "None". You should now be able to add the templates.
