View triggers on a host as guest/read-only user

I am trying to set up a gues/read-only user in Zabbix to be able to view the triggers configured on the hosts, but am finding that this is not really achievable, as in, only users with write access are able to view triggers.

Is this assumption correct, and if so, what is the reasoning behind preventing a read-only user from reading trigger information?
