I don't really know - why this is not implemented yet.
We can tag any object like Host, Item or Trigger and tags could be inhereted - this is CORE andd powerfull feature.
But we cann't filted by these tags. It is annoing. We had to make huge script.
This is absolutelly required for service oriented type of monitoring which is looks like one of the direction for this product.
