    Monitor running MQTT Server

Hi, i am trying to monitor if a mqtt server is up and running. I have found several documents that explain how to follow topics but this is not what I am looking for.
Since I am at the begin of my zabbix journey I just want to check if the server is up and running.

I have done tons of googling but have not found a document that gives guidance on this question.
    Regards

    Hagen

Have you looked at the Zabbix MQTT integration instructions?

Monitoring of the mqtt service is possible upon the presence of a process in the system, on a listening port, or upon request for data from any service topic.

Please stop providing links to manpages. have read them. If you dont have a guide how to implement this dont waste your time search for a man page.

I also wrote to you what parameters can be used to monitor the MQTT server - what is unclear? The links are given to illustrate the items that can be used.
If you are so stupid that you do not know or cannot figure out how to use zabbix, then of course no instructions will help you.
Stay as d*** as you are.

I am glad you deleted your original post with more explicit wording of your opinion of me. Obviously your level of genius is way above mine and you are able to see the concepts of a complex monitoring solution right ouf of the documentation of a function.

May be there are other humans in this forum who understand that sometimes a how to will help. I am not execepting that this has to exist but I am just asking if somebody has already stepped down to the level of minor intelligence that I have to live with.

TBH, given instructions are the ones to use... your mqtt server is a process in a host, using a port to communicate. So to check, is it working, is to check is there a process with appropriate name and is particular port answering.. You can probably add a logfile parsing to it, if that mqtt server writes somekind of log, so for example too long pause in logwriting may indicate dead process...
Links, given above take you directly to items that you can use for this... If you say, you have read those, then what is the reason you cannot use them ?

Sure, sending a person a link to fdisk man page should be enough to finish a linux installation with zfs.

Nevermind. Obviously i am to dumb to use this software and I am also too sensitive to use a software which is "supported" by a community that tolerates this type of communication. I will go bacl and pick up my Icinga installation.

Your comparison would be somewhat relevant, if someone would send you link to proc.num item description after you asked, how to install Zabbix... If you expect someone write you a multipage instruction with moving pictures... sorry, this is not that place. Those things are in manual and you should read it.
