is there a way to avoid release candidates and stick to the LTS versions?

Not just Today, also multiple times in the past after using apt upgrade I stumbled about a -for example- zabbix-server-mysql 1:6.4.7~rc1-1+ubuntu20.04 amd64 on our Zabbix server.
I'd like to avoid any development build or non LTS version.
I thought about to use apt-mark but in the end I plan to just remove the Zabbix apt list file /etc/apt/source.list.d/zabbix.list.

What is the most efficient or best recommended way to restrict zabbix updates to LTS versions only? Any help is appreciated!

Hi,

The approach to prevent Zabbix server from being upgraded is like for the every other package, your proposition with using apt-mark is good way to accomplish this. Hi,

In addition to my previous message - this would be impossible to move away from Zabbix LTS version unless you upgrade the Zabbix repository manually (zabbix-release). Without it you should not be able to update further the major and LTS versions - only minor versions - let's say you installed zabbix-release-6.0* so you will stick to that version. To sum up, for the Zabbix alone you should not worry about they are being updated by package manager in unwanted situation.
