Monitoring a large number of hosts and missing ping

Hello, we want to monitor 3000+ hosts in zabbix (4.0), but currently our ping is low and zabbix is not efficient. How to improve zabbix performance? Will using a proxy be a good solution?
Another problem is one processor core, which is loaded at 100% every few minutes and, as I guess, this is why the ping drops.

How many pinger processes you start (StartPingers parameter in server conf)?
3k+ hosts definitely needs a some proxies...
