Hello,
I have a bunch of FortiSwitches that I assign a Template to which has a several checks.
One of the checks is to report on the status of the PSUs.
In the 400 FortiSwitch Series the OIDs for the PSUs are:
PSU 1 - SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.99.1.1.1.4.6
PSU 2 - SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.99.1.1.1.4.7
But in the 1000 series the OIDs are:
PSU 1 - SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.99.1.1.1.4.7
PSU 2 - SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.99.1.1.1.4.8
I currently assign the same template to both switches as 99% of the OIDs are the same.
Wondering what the best way to sort this is? I would like to keep the number of templates down to a minimum and not have separate ones for the 400 and 1000 series switches.
Is there a way to only add a check based on a condition (Like a SNMP lookup)?
Interested to hear what others are doing in this scenario.
Regards,
Peter
