    Cisco switch interface monitor

I am new to Zabbix and still experimenting and testing. At the moment I have a few Cisco switch stacks (C9300-48U and C9404R) scanned in to Zabbix.

I have a few stacks (8x 48 ports switches per stack) using the 'Cisco IOS by SNMP template. So this has scanned all the ports (8x48 = 384 ports!). How can I select just the specific ports that I want monitoring? for example uplink and Access Point ports?

I can't seem to see an option where you could deselect/select the ports that require monitoring.

    Any help/pointers will be appreciated.

hi.. You could Disable all the ports you don't want to monitoring. At zabbix 6.4.10 (that is my version) go to data colection -> hosts -> left click in the host you want -> items -> then select all items (do the change per page) that you dont want to monitoring and at bottom set DISABLE.
The status will change to Disabled so that will not be monitorized

Thanks, thats very helpful. Is there a way of disabling all at the same time and then enable what's needed? A stack of 8 switch will probably have over 70 pages of ports. Although I've noticed Zabbix is only showing 20 pages for 2 switches but there are 8 switches in this stack (another issue to look at).

yes. I think is this what you want.
At Data Collection -> select the host you want -> discovery rules -> select the discovery rule you want -> on items prototypes you has a column called "Create Enable"
Set the options you want to NO.
Global view.... the discovery rule is enable do search and create items to read info of, but the item it self will be DISABLE to give information.
So at the general list of items in the host they will apear but his status will be DISABLE

You can add rules to discovery.. There are macros in that template like {$NET.IF.IFNAME.MATCHES} and {$NET.IF.IFNAME.NOT_MATCHES} . Use regexes to give values to those and only needed things are discovered...
